Smart  Turner Cantilever Pumps are designed to be simple and uncomplicated,  yet extremely rugged. The design has a minimum of parts, no liquid  seals or packing to consider, although the shaft is gas and vapor  sealed at the support plate. Since there are no submerged bearings  or rubbing contacts, the design is ideally suited to difficult  vertical applications where down time is a major handicap and  minimum maintenance is a dominant criteria.
Features:
Casings: A  radially split, cast volute with integral suction cover and 125/150  psi ANSI flat faced flanged connections.
Impeller: Cast  in one piece, the open impeller is trimmed to the exact diameter  required and is factory balanced. The heavy section of the impeller  provides excellent wear and corrosion allowance. Clearance between  impeller and casing is factory set to ensure optimum performance and  no field adjustment is required.
Column: Common  to all models. Spigotted flanges provide accurate and rigid  alignment.
Column  Adaptor: Four column adaptors  cover the whole range. They are cast with fully open sides, to  ensure no pressure build up is possible in the column, and house a  restriction bushing to prevent leakage along the shaft.
Bearing  Housing: Rigid cast iron spigotted to the support  plate and accepting a 'C' flange motor as standard. Other drive  arrangements can be provided.
Shaft: Massive, rigid, alloy shaft sized  to provide smooth running with minimum deflection, and to ensure  first critical speed is well above the running speed, even when the  pump is operating against a closed valve. The section passing  through the restriction bushing is replaceable to ensure low cost maintenance.
Bearings: Grease  lubricated ball or roller bearings depending on frame size. The  bearings are selected to provide an optimum B10 100,000 hour life in  normal operating service, and 30,000 hour life or more, even when  the  pump  is operating against a closed valve.
Base Plate: Rigid casting  spigotted to both bearing housing and column to ensure accurate  alignment.
Coverplate: Fabricated to our standard  dimensions or to suit the installation.
Interchangeability: 20  pumps on 3 frames, a single column size and  only 4 adaptors ensure  maximum efficiency and economy.
Settings:  Standard columns provide  settings (base plate to suction) to 5 ft. depending on model. Longer  settings can be provided either by use of a suction nipple or,  depending on model and rating, by a longer column.
