Open Impeller End Suction
Smart Turner Open Impeller Centrifugal Pumps are quality built for rugged duty, particularly where the fluid is corrosive, abrasive,
or dirty, or where continuous, low down time, operation is essential. Impellers require no field adjustment of running clearances which are factory set during assembly to ensure optimum efficiency
and hydraulic performance. The heavy section of the impeller provides excellent wear
and corrosion allowances. The many other features common to both open and enclosed impeller designs are indicated in the centre of this page to the left of this column. |
Features for Both Models Casing:
A radially split volute with integral suction cover and 125/150 psi ANSI flat faced flanged connections. Impeller:
Cast in one piece, the impeller is trimmed to the exact diameter required for the service rating and then factory balanced to ensure smooth, vibration free operation. Stuffing Box Cover:
A heavy one piece casting with rabbeted flange for positive alignment. The deep bore will accept a wide range of packings or mechanical seals. Precision machined high quality alloy, normally fitted
with a renewable sleeve. Sized to minimize deflection to ensure smooth operation and maximum packing or seal life. Bearings:
Grease lubricated ball or roller bearings, sealed for life where size permits, are rated for 2 years minimum service at full load and speed. Power Frame:
A one piece casting precision machined to assure accurate bore and rotating element alignment. Integral feet for maximum rigidity, and an integral gland drip reservoir. Interchangeability:
All 37 pumps utilize only four power frame sizes. Pumps on the same frame have fully interchangeable shafts, bearings, seals, glands, and hardware resulting in an efficient parts inventory at
both factory and customer. Bases are our standard rigid fabricated steel. Couplings are our own standard or as required. Motors or other drives can be provided as required. Tests: All pumps are hydrostatically tested to 50 psi above the maximum casing
design pressure. |

Enclosed Impeller End Suction Smart Turner Enclosed Impeller Centrifugal Pumps are quality built for rugged duty. They are
ideally suited to plant service requirements where continuous, high efficiency, trouble free operation is required. Impellers are hydraulically balanced and have precise radial clearance between
them and the casings resulting in lower circulation and wear, and minimal increase of stuffing box pressure. The many other features common to both open and enclosed impeller designs are indicated in the centre of this page to the right of this column. Smart Turner End Suction
Pumps are of uncomplicated heavy duty design which lends itself to the inclusion of special features, including back pullout with spacer coupling. |
